Tuck Thatching

Generations of Roof Thatching

As well as working partners, we are also cousins so have known each other all our lives.

Local in the true sense of the word, our fathers are Chideock born and bred and we followed in the footsteps of our great-grandfather, Jim Tuck, who was thatching at the beginning of the 20th Century!  Thatching is a way of life for us both and not merely a job.  Come rain or shine, we practice our craft so you won’t just see us in the summertime!

But Tuck Thatching is not all about us! Behind the scenes, you’ll find our hardworking ‘other halves’, Kay and Lisa, helping us with the paperwork and keeping our feet firmly on the ground! We couldn’t do it without them.

“…you did such a marvellous and professional job. The talent of the detail you put into the new thatch will continue to give me and my visitors much pleasure and joy. I am so glad I selected you to carry out the work... Your professionalism is unsurpassable and you left everything in such a tidy and spotless state.”
